Education Modified Selected for 2017 NewSchools Ignite Cohort to Improve Special Education
Did you know that students with special needs are more likely to be suspended, expelled, and drop out of school compared to their peers? Also, did you know that special education teachers leave the profession at almost double the rate of general education teachers? Yet, we understand more about neuro-diversity and special needs now than ever before. In fact, there is a growing movement to embrace neuro-diversity with all of its strengths, rather than just focusing on weaknesses.
This is why we are pleased to announce that Education Modified is a winner of the NewSchools Ignite Special Education Challenge. It’s a great time to embrace how students learn differently and reimagine Special Education in the classroom.
The support from NewSchools Ignite offers mentorship, funding and a community of passionate innovators. This support allows us to further address one of the most critical gaps in education, and help lead a movement that reduces stigma and embraces differences in learning. We are proud to be part of @NSVF Ignite cohort and collaborate with a great community of entrepreneurs solving tough problems in special education.
Congratulations to all of the winners!
